So we have 4 months to go till our baby arrives sounds a bit scary hey… us being parents! Well to be honest I have never felt so close to you than I do right now. You have so much care and love for me and our bond is unbreakable. I found this image of us having fun back in autumn last year and I just love the way it shows our personalities so well. You Mr calm, collected and sensible and me the crazy loon who never stops smiling and quilted you in to allowing me to jump on your back! You accept not to be able to understand me and my impossible workaholic crazy self and you allow me to be who I really want to be.

That’s the thing about us we are chalk and cheese but it’s because we are so different its makes us perfect for each other. I saw this quote at a wedding I photographed the other week and it sums real love just perfect

“You know when you are in love, when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams” Dr Seuss

Reality right now is better than my dreams because firstly I have you, we have our precious first baby on the way and then we’ll have everything I have ever dreamed of. I love you, you are my strength and we sure as heck are gonna rock at being parents!

So it’s that time of year for us to go on our big holiday. I like to go away once a year at least and this year we are off to Canada. For me it will be a two-week photo shoot and for Al its 2 weeks of chilling! Our friend Mark is coming with us who is just hilarious so I can’t wait and secretly hoping to get spoilt by the boys… we’ll see!

I love being away and this holiday is something I have been dreaming about for a while. We are flying into Vancouver spending a couple of days in the city then we’ve hired an RV for 11 days to explore the Rockies. We have an action plan in place but no where has been booked so it will be a wild and fun holiday. I really hope to see some bears but hoping they don’t chase me anything is possible and I have rubbish luck so you never know. Then we fly back from Calgary after meeting with some friends for the evening… cant wait to see you guys!

BUT…. the one thing that kills me going away is leaving my Holly Dog. I know I am obsessed with my dog and I don’t care but she is my buddy and I wish I could take her with us… see you in 2 weeks little gringo!!

I thought I would share a few funny photo’s my wonderful second shooter (Mandy) took of me at a recent wedding in Bath. I absolutely love having a second person there with me to shoot as they get to capture a different look and I really feel contented to know we are getting lots a great shots for the Bride and Groom! And we get to have great fun and take photo’s like these… thanks Mandy!!

The first one make me laugh as I always call myself the spare token bridesmaid at a wedding as I always end up helping either stick a nail back on, tighten a dress or put a buttonhole on correctly! And here I am running off after the bride getting them ready for a confetti shot.

I always moan about my wrinkles in my face…. now maybe if I didn’t screw my face up quite so much I would have a more ironed out look! – Note to self stop screwing my face up or I will look 60 by the age of 31! I also like to multitask too… oh yes I am gripping a bouquet here in-between my legs whilst taking pictures see boys it’s not hard to multitask!!

I love summer time, the long nights, BBQ’s, ice lollies, the smell of fresh-cut grass, long evening walks with Al and Holly and summer holidays! This year we have had a great summer the weather has been kind to us but Autumn has very much arrived. As much as I love summer I can’t get enough of the color of the leaves on the ground and what is left in the tree’s. They have such a warmth about them and it makes for gorgeous pictures.

The pictures below are from two of my favorite places. The summer picture was taken on my parents boat in the most amazing bay in Ibiza and the autumn picture was taken in the field opposite my house when Holly gets her daily run around.

These two stunning models are Gina and Talida, two very close friends of mine. I was asked by Kristina of Krystal Beauty if I’d like to do a Bridal Shoot at The Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby and of course I wanted to be involved any opportunity to snap away at gorgeous brides and I am there! Kristina is so talented she can master any hairstyle and is a natural at beautiful make up, so any brides who want someone to come to your house and have hair and make up done she is your lady!!

Gina and Talida wore their original wedding dresses and although they have both have had children now, they totally rocked it out again in their dresses. It was so liberating for them and to witness the enjoyment of wearing your dress again and this time with no pressure!! I think they are both gorgeous girls …. sorry ladies, who just look amazing and yet so comfortable and effortless. You were both my beautiful models for the day and here are your pictures to prove you are both hot mama’s!! xx

One thing that makes me laugh about this last shot is that me and Kristina look two foot smaller that Gina and Talida…clearly the girls must of being stood on their tippy toes…. I hope/wish!!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jamie and Laura. This shoot was styled by the ever so lovely Michele Gledhill who went for a beautiful country French Chic style, with romantic lace design. The flowers were Hydrangeas, Roses, Stocks and Veronica in velvety purples and deep pinks. Jamie and Laura have been together for 9 years now and they got married in 2007 at St George’s Church in Brailes. Last year they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Bethany, who let me tell you in just adorable.
I asked Laura a few questions about her happy marriage and advice for new brides to be?
What advice would you give to a bride to be about her forthcoming wedding day?
I would say try to make the most of every moment, it goes so fast so try. Try and get rid of all your stresses on the day and enjoy spending time talking and being with your friends and family.
What is your secret to a happy marriage?
Talking – It’s so important to communicate with each other talk things though and understand each other. Have evenings where you turn the TV off and play games or cook a nice meal and enjoy each others company.
What annoys you the most about your husband?
He puts salt on all my meals without trying it first, even when I have gone to a lot of effort to make it taste great!! But I guess we all have our faults.
What is the thing you most love about your husband?
The way he makes me smile with a look and the way he makes me laugh…oh and I love his dimples – I love him….

I love this one you guys are like a two piece jigsaw that fit perfect with each other

A couple of weeks ago I have the pleasure to take some photo’s of a lovely friend of mine called Sarah. I found the perfect location a field full of poppies in Castle Donington. Sarah was on her way to mine and the biggest and I mean biggest rain cloud came from no where, I was starting to freak out and think this shoot wasnt going to go ahead at all. When my friend Jade from Jade Alana Photography arrived who was also shooting with us arrived got all excited and said its ok the rain cloud looks immense and its going to be great as long as we go NOW NOW NOW!!! So we all ran to the field and to all of our amazement we never got one rain drop on our heads and proceeded to have a great evening snapping away!

Sarah I hope you like the pictures, you are truely beautiful and your kind sensitive personality really shows from these pictures.

and for my final favorite, the lady with the beautiful eyes, go run your hand through your hair!!
